Cowboy hats and boots were on full display as fans transformed Frost Bank Center into a celebration of Texas and música mexicana on July 19. Long before Grupo Frontera took the stage, concertgoers were already singing along to the pre-show playlist, turning familiar songs into a venue-wide singalong. As fans grabbed a bite to eat and one last drink before the lights dimmed, the excitement inside the arena only continued to grow.
When the lights finally went down, bursts of pyrotechnics exploded in sync with the opening moments of the show. As part of their Triste Pero Bien C*brón Tour, Grupo Frontera wasted no time delivering the songs that have made them one of the biggest names in música mexicana. From "Que Vuelvas" and "El Amor de Su Vida" to "Me Jalo" and "un x100to," nearly every song became a singalong, with fans matching the band's vocals.
Throughout the night, Grupo Frontera's chemistry was evident from start to finish. Ahead of the concert, a heartfelt TikTok from Trejo's family gained widespread attention after his sister shared that he had been tragically killed while protecting his friends. She explained that Edward and his younger brother, Jet, bonded over Grupo Frontera's music and that attending the band's concert together for Jet's seventh birthday had become one of their favorite memories. Hoping to create another special moment for Jet, she shared their story in the hopes it would reach the band.
It did.
During the performance of "No Se Va," Payo Solís dedicated the song to Edward's memory, turning an already emotional fan favorite into one of the night's most heartfelt moments. Jet and his family were invited to the front row before later meeting the band backstage, creating a memory that meant far more than a photo or autograph. It was a reminder that concerts can become something much bigger than a night of live music. For Jet and his family, Grupo Frontera gave them another memory to hold onto while honoring someone who meant the world to them.
